For the first time ever, we are asking our readership to consider making an annual donation to the Livingston Current to help support the weekly news delivered free each issue. With the support of our readers we will be able to hire more writers, photographers and artists to cover interesting and important issues across the community, stay in good standing with our many vendors and also continue to offer local advertisers credit for 90 days for ads placed in the paper.
For those participating in this first-annual funds drive, we will be offering an added incentive: each contributor of $25 or more will be automatically entered to win an original oil painting donated by Edd Enders valued at over $700. We encourage pledges/donations of $25, $50, $75, $100 or $250, or more, of course. Participants should know that each dollar will go towards not only supporting the Current but also supporting the local writers, artists, photographers, businesses and more we work with each week. As a company devoted to "buying local" know that donations will be returned directly to the community in the creation of the newspaper over the next year.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 for our capital funds account by April 7, 2012. Check the Current each week to view the progress of the fund raising and feel free to donate often and generously!
