Mill Creek School

 The first schools were supported by voluntary subscription and were only a temporary solution to one of the problems of pioneer life. Tax-supported institutions of learning were much more practical, even if they served only one family, as did the school attended by Walter, Rodger, and Ollie Williams (VanAken) in 1900.
